Liberado primeiro preview do sidux 2009-02 Aethir

Caros amigos do sidux,
Tenho a boa notícia que o desenvolvimento do sidux acabou de disponibilizar o primeiro preview da versão do sidux 2009.02, codinome Aethir, que vem com kde 4.2.4, kernel 2.6.30; xfce 4.61, X.org 7.4 (xserver-xorg-core 1.6.1.901) e muito mais com alta compatibilidade de hardware e o mais moderno em termos de softwares etc.
Um outro tópico importantíssimo foi a performance do ext3 e a estabilidade do ext4. Enquanto ext4 ainda tem que ser considerado um novo filesystem, o qual deve ainda amadurecer um pouco, antes que possa ser confiado em sistemas de produção. Está progredindo muito rapidamente.
Por esta razões, por enquanto, nós ainda somos contra a recomendação de usar ext4.

sidux is a full featured Debian sid based live CD with a special focus on hard disk installations, a clean upgrade path within sid and additional hard- and software support. The ISO is completely based on Debian sid, enriched and stabilized with sidux´ own packages and scripts.
...Another hot topic has been ext3 performance and ext4 stability. While ext4 still has to be considered a new filesystem, which should still mature a bit before it can be relied upon in production systems, it is progressing quickly. For these reasons, we recommend against using ext4 for the time being...
